Tonight's sunset. Really. It was sunset time.
I wasn't going to go out to the barn. I just wanted to go home and watch TV. And fold clothes. Maybe. In my world, folding is always optional. As long as they're clean, right?
But I remembered after dropping off the kids that Phoebe didn't have grain ready for the week. So I took the freeway south. I always keep the right clothes in my car.
I'm glad I went. My laundry's all wrinkled, but my soul is alright with that. The kids and I had a really busy weekend. After about two hours at the barn, I felt relaxed and ready to take on the week.
Today, I walked into an establishment and ran into someone I know from the program. He's a good guy. He's been out to ride my horse, and he's been meaning to go again, but he's in retail, so our schedules rarely mesh now that I'm 9-5ing it.
Another guy was in there. New to the Oakland scene. I like him. We chatted for a bit and I went on my way. I really appreciate seeing people I know from one arena out and about in other places, living their lives. It makes this big world seem a little smaller and cozier.
