Having kids is sometimes like having little time machines. Watching my kindergartner learn to read. My fourth-grader become a "tween." I feel like I've lived a whole lifetime (and in the middle-ages, I'd have been long-gone or on my last legs by now, so I kind of have.) Yet I can, in a way, experience all over again the excitement of learning to read and finding out that a boy "likes" you, wondering if Mom packed a decent lunch today...pretty cool.
