Today I rented The Huntsman: Winters War for my daughter. It was her last day home before school starts tomorrow. (Cannot believe she's in 6th grade already. Clearly, I'm too young to have a daughter that old.) I watched it tonight while I made dinner, etc. I liked it.
The critics didn't like it. I don't know what people were expecting. It's a fun, adventure/romance/fairytale with good actors. It's no The Princess Bride but it fit my "chill out and shut the brain down for awhile" criteria perfectly.
I thought the first one was fun. I thought this one was fun. But of course, we're talking about me here. The one who goes all Hallmark Channel, all the time, during the holidays. I just love a good romance. Throw in a wicked something or other and a happily ever after, and it sounds good to me.
