I went on a hike with a friend after work. It's a prominent ridge that I've seen from the freeways many times, and just a couple of weeks ago discovered that it's part of the regional park system. Off-leash for Mose, amazing views and windy. Crazy windy. Whenever the fog rolls in, the east bay remains clear, but it gets pretty crazy in the wind department.
The photo below the view totally cracked me up. It looks like we're being "one with the wind", but really, we couldn't keep our eyes open.
Totally fun. A beautiful sunset and KFC after. My friend and I both have great memories of KFC at "the lake" in Wisconsin when we were growing up. (Separately, I didn't meet him until 1999 or so.)
Sigh. I ordered the grilled chicken. It was good, but doesn't compare with the original thing. It's worth it though. I'd much rather give up breading than ruin my progress back to fitness.
We had to climb a pretty steep hill for about a half a mile. It's a lot easier now that a) I quit smoking, and b) I'm much lighter!
Work was good, but I spent a lot of time trying to figure stuff out. What a pain in the ass. But, at leaat now that I know, it'll be easier next time.
All in all. Nothing very exciting to report. Unless you consider good health and after-work mini-adventures exciting. Which I do.
