Today's photo is of a tragic love triangle.
When Mr. Jones lived in the pasture, he always hung out with Carly, the palomino mare wearing the fly mask (yes, she can see). After he refused to stay in the pasture and was confined to his paddock, his best friend Bud, the big Clydesdale draft-cross, stepped in and made her his woman.
Mr. Jones and Carly reunited this afternoon, and Bud was none too happy about it. He stood over her while Mr. Jones and Carly made out. He tried to nudge her away. She wouldn't move. Her one true love was back.
So Bud took his frustration out on some of the other geldings. Biting and kicking them, and generally being a total dick. Carly and Mr. Jones ignored him.
Poor Mr. Jones. I wish I could put him back in the pasture; but he won't stay in. It's for his good, but it's not ideal.
As for me, I feel somewhat better. I was sick last night, but rested most of the day. I had to go to the barn to get Phoebe's grain ready for the week.
It was lovely and peaceful.
And I moved my alarm to 5:35. It's not much, but hopefully that extra 20 minutes will add up. Have I mentioned I need more free time? A main focus of my journaling and creative process.
I genuinely enjoy going to work. I'd just like to go a little less often! I have stuff to do.
