By Al Mutanabbī
Now, this court shall learn,
That I am a man of great wisdom and courage.
I am he whose words are to the blind reigniting,
And the deaf could even hear me reciting.
Contempt with complete verses, I sleep with no aggression,
While the few strain for meaningful expression,
I laugh at the ignorant and their apathy,
Until, I destroy them with the power of perspicacity.
If you see the lion bare his teeth,
Never assume he is smiling.
