Happy Throwback Thursday from a Summer Street Car in Oshawa at Bloor St and Simcoe St in 1915. View of the summer car (called a "summer" car because the sides are open to the elements) standing idle at the loading platform on Simcoe Street, South of the Grand Trunk Railway tracks. When transporting people, the conductor collected the fares by walking along the outside steps and extending the fare box, fixed to a long pole, across the rows of passengers, the seats extending across the car with no middle aisle.
