Do you respect the other cultures? Or just think you do?
In a conversation with some friends, a unusual affair come to us: How the vision of culture affect the respect about it.
The main question is, how many times did you say "ugh this food is horrible" about a food that you were not accostumed to eat? That is the point, a food is not good cause you don't liked it? Do you really think this way? Well, i thought this way too, until we got some things.
Or palate, like our brain, is accostumed with some kind of food, you can like others types, but when you chance much, your palate say "oh no i don't want this, is too much strange for me", but how the people of this culture eat this? Because it is good.
What is good to you is what you always eat, or start to eat after, but don't chance too much from what you are acostumated. A aggressive change is not accepted by us. Now, would you like to see someone saying that what you ate in your all entire life doesn't have taste? Or is bad, just because that person didn't like it?
The respect comes from stop lower other cultures saying that this is strange, this is bad, horrible, weird or just "make no sense". The cultures are different, but not better or worse than other, just different. The things that you think common to say, could offend much more than you ever imagined, but it never crossed your mind, cause it is not different, is normal.
