I am a self taught American photographer with a unique style and unconventional take on selective subjects which is reflected in the creation of photographic arts using a variety of cameras, formats and lenses. Many of my favorite images are made using discarded candy tins & boxes reinvented to become simple pinhole cameras.

In my search for visual forms, I consolidate the exchange between my personal gaze as an artist, and the narrative contained within the subject. What I look for in this narrative is the representation of not only a catharsis, but also the revelation of a hidden identity. It is not the pose, product of training or repetition.

Evan Mendel (@evanmendel)
Evan Mendel is a fine artist and mural painter based out of Los Angeles. His work deals with human emotion, often with imaginary figures that serve as vessels to communicate the feelings that Evan is trying to evoke. Beyond just the figurative aspect, the color pallet, composition, texture, and brushstrokes all serve a purpose in pushing the emotional narrative of each painting.
