Things I'm on about this week.
This album by Ludique. By and large it is an album of beautiful, upbeat techno with a bit of a melancholic edge, my favorite sound really. A subtle mixture of joy and longing, check it out.
@arbee's new EP of ambient pieces. It is fall and you might be wondering what to listen to while you kick about through the leaves, Récidives is a good place to start. Restrained, and wispy, gentle movement, peaceful.
Sword of Fargoal is a classic, pure dungeon crawler that I have been playing for years without ever really losing interest. It is distilled RPG, no frills, really an example of minimalism in games. It's an almost perfect game, really. You wander the levels of the dungeon, you fight monsters, you collect loot, you die. But somehow, without all of the trappings of modern narrative in games, you're able to become invested in the struggle of your character. Sword of Fargoal begins the journey that ends currently at Dark Souls. I started playing again recently on my phone and enjoy it as much as I ever have. If you're interested in checking out a classic of the genre, I can't recommend it enough.
This podcast by @giash. Just some damn great deep and funky techno, lots of great detailed music and solid mixing.
And my own new episode of Sunday Morning With Coffee, I make DJ mixes because it's music I want to listen to.
