Today what I'm on about. Downwell.
Fun game for iOS, android and PC. it's a "roguelike" I suppose, in that when you die you start over again. I feel like today "roguelike" is just used to describe what all games used to be like.
Anyway. It's deceptively fun, you jump down the well, you unlock all sorts of things, game stuff. What makes it stand out in a world of simple games where you shoot stuff and die is the fact that you're always moving downards, and you have the ability, and inclination to try and move as fast as possible, but that's how you end up dead. You want to try and manage the rate at which you're moving down through the levels so that you can get hella gems. Pretty early in the morning to be trying to talk about why a game is fun. Check it out.
