Happy Tuesday ✌️
Today we’re talking all about Artist Invites. Specifically, what Artist Invites are and mean to Ello. The invite that went live this week, the two that just wrapped up, and of course, this week’s giveaways.
We’ve been running collaborative “contests” on Ello as way to extend opportunity to Ello’s artist community for some time now. Today we’re announcing that we’re formalizing our efforts into a program called, Artist Invites.
Our first “real” Artist Invite was with SPOON magazine (@spoonmagazine) back in April of last year. In partnership with SPOON we provided an opportunity for Ello artists to be published in their Paris-based fashion magazine. In return, Ello artists received exposure on and off platform (features in blog posts, announcements, emails, social posts, etc.) and a small selection were awarded artist grants (yes, real $). Given how well our collaboration with SPOON went and how much the community enjoyed it, we followed up with a second collaborative issue, this time including an art exhibition & launch party at Paris Fashion Week.
One of our team’s core product design tenets is find what’s working for our artist community — and do more of it. Artist invites checks all of our boxes. They put “Creators First.” and provide visibility, influence and opportunity to our community members. Since our first collab with SPOON, we’ve gone on to launch and run 15 Invites with all sorts of amazing brands and publishing partners. We want to you to know there are more coming. So, count on seeing more collaborative, project-based opportunities to get published, work with brands, get paid and gain worldwide recognition on Ello.
PS: For you design nerds, this is the first glimpse at the Ello logotype

Chiara Lombardi (@chiaralombardi) is a 22 year old photographer from Italy who fell in love with photography when her father handed her a disposable camera on a family vacation.
Her work has evolved from vacation snaps into polished portraits that play with identity, texture, and creative interpretations of traditional portraiture.
