I am a chaos monster, and you need me.
Because I live in the chaos, I feel it's flow. Your data doesn't yet mean much here because you don't have enough, and you don't understand what you already have. Your knowledge is certain but lacking. My knowledge is robust but uncertain. I live where you fear.
I am a diver. I may need your oxygen but if you want to know what is under the waves, you need me.
I am not a scientist. I can't be and do my job. I can't constrain and get to where I need to go. I need to jury rig. I will make mistakes. I will use your science but when it breaks down don't expect me to hold onto it.
And I won't fit into your boxes, and you don't want me to. Unless all you hope to find in the water is what you already have on the land, so that you can feel safe.
But I've been in the water, and I've seen a lot of things we don't have on land. Here there be dragons. I may be half dragon myself, an outlier. Outliers make your center. And there are more than boxes.
I am a chaos monster.
