I really should go to sleep, but it takes me a while to wind down after shooting a show. I shot a set for a local band Just Lions at the Crystal Ballroom. play-on-words are fun
It was a lot of fun to shoot. The sound was awesome, the lighting was awesome, and the staff was very professional. Everybody had a job to do, and they respected that I had a job to do to. I made sure I found the right guy to talk to about the house rules, you know where I could go what I could stand on. Those guys were great. They made my job easy and fun.
However, the funny thing was, I was given explicit instructions that I was not allowed to photograph the headlining act Cage the Elephant. I was the only person shooting, the opener until the last thirty seconds of the last song, that was cool. I didn't stick around for Cage the Elephant, that place sold out in 20 minutes, so they must be pretty good..
But the highlight of the whole evening was when a teenage girl yelled at me, "hey Mr. Camera Man, you have a cool job!" That was awesome, because I guess I finally have a cool job!
