Our last few days in Japan were spent in Tokyo with multiple meetings, photo shoots, and hanging with friends. Yasushi Takayama, of Rush Productions, brought us by his buddy’s place, Grand Gallery, for a bōnenkai party (bōnenkai literally means, ”forget the year gathering”. These parties were happening all over Japan and with greater frequency as our stay extended closer to the end of the year. You can read more about bōnenkai parties here).
Grand Gallery was a vintage clothing and home goods store as well as an epicenter and meeting ground for DJ’s. There was a heavy line up of friends scheduled to spin throughout the afternoon and late into the evening, so many DJ’s in fact, they were scheduled in 20 min sets apart from one another. Tommy caught up with DJ Yas (with whom he did an EP collaboration with many moons ago), tried on a few vintage western/Native American-inspired threads, and then it was off to the next…

日本での最後の数日間は、東京で打ち合わせや写真撮影をしたり、友だちと会ったりして過ごしました。Rush Productionsの高山康志氏は、友人の経営するGrand Galleryで開かれていた忘年会に連れて行ってくれました（※忘年会は文字通り“その年を忘れるための会”。私たちの滞在が年末に近かったため、こういった集まりは日本中で頻繁に行われていました。）
Grand Galleryはヴィンテージの洋服や雑貨を売っているお店で、DJのたまり場でもありました。この日は午後から深夜まで、たくさんの仲間たちがラインアップされていて、20分おきにDJが交代するようスケジュールされていました。トミーはDJ Yasと再会し（※彼とは遥か昔にEPでコラボレーションしたそうです）、ウェスタン／ネイティブアメリカンにインスパイアされたアイテムをいくつか試着して、次の目的地へと向かいました…
