"White Rodin IX" by Troy Schooneman
This new work is part of my "White Rodin" series inspired by the life sized male nude bronze sculptures of French sculptor Auguste Rodin (1840 – 1917). Rodin's work often caused controversy. So lifelike were his works that he was once accused by religious fanatics in Paris of being a demon who killed his models and encased them for all eternity within his sculptures. An incredibly bizarre but fascinating testament to his artistic genius.
The portraits in my White Rodin series are deliberately desaturated with reduced contrast to give the works a more sculptural appearance.
