do you ever look up and see an airplane soaring miles above your head. the first thought that occurs is usually, ok, its just an airplane. but have you ever considered the fact that right above you, clearly visible, is one of the most influential and most important strides in our collective path of technological development. up there, in a thin and slim, pressurized metal tube, sits dozens to hundreds of people just like you, all with complex and infinetly differing lives and histories. up there could be a young family moving to another nation to improve their lives, an affluent businesswoman on her way to a corporate function or the next great innovator who could change our world as we know it. up there, that slim metal tube will travel great distances and perhaps to far away countries and continents all in time unimaginable to our predecessors.
when the time comes, and you once again gaze up into the azure abyss lying above you and witness a plane gliding gracefully through the air, pause and think about the infinite reasons of why its occupants are currently within it or the thousands destinations within its reach. then pause and reflect over the fact, that you live in a world in which humanity has finally achieved an aspiration as old as our species, the aspiration of flight.
