SKETCHES OF MY CITY 2017 - 2018
After spending 4 years away in London (UK) I have been visiting home quite often. Each time getting more and more inspired by the magnificent and vibrant Vilnius Old Town architecture I produced series of sketches. Being an artist and designer now, so attracted to capturing the city with a pen and little sketchbook, I remember wanting to become an architect.
Sketches of my city helps me and others to see the city in a different way - to notice the details, see the architecture in a more fun way and appreciate its vibrancy.
Architecture drawings are structured and measured, whereas I see it more as a structure full of dynamic colors or details. Constantly moving, constantly changing and different each time of the day. Lines come alive into the scribbled perception of the city and its contrasts.
As a graphic designer and artist, I notice and explore what the eyes perceive with the use of colors and process of sketching. Architecture takes a massive importance as a reflection of culture, the past and the current, and I feel quite lucky to be able to capture it and show it to others.
