Injustice with the head of Cyntoia.
According to other authors (Ovid, Apollodorus, Hesiod) Medusa was originally a beautiful woman: to turn her into a monster would have been the goddess Athena, as a punishment for having lain with (or for being raped by) Poseidon in one of his temples; according to other versions still, Athena was adverse to Medusa because the latter had dared to compete with her in beauty.
A difficult life. An adolescence lived on the margins of society. A broken existence. At the age of 16, Cyntoia Brown had known everything bad that could come from life: her mother, Georgina Mitchell, with problems of alcohol and cocaine, after having given birth to a rape, spent more years in prison than at her side. Two years later, Cyntoia was tossed into another family. At 16 he had already tried what it meant to be raped. Without any possibility and an uncertain future, in one night in 2004 Cyntoia fired at the man who had raped her: he was killed, while for her the prison doors for life were opened. She has been living in a Tennessee prison for 13 years, but now her story is going around the world, driven by a social campaign married by actresses and singers who, through the hashtag #FreeCyntoiaBrown , ask for her release and me too.
