Up at 6. Commuted to school. Read quota of Talty; listened to I Have My Liberty: Gospel Sounds from Accra, Ghana. A little samey as a straight-through album, to be honest. Annoyed by email on the bus from my t.a. Ian, saying that he might not get to campus in time to print the finals. Rushed to office, got Odile, the dept. secretary, to send the file to the printer. Ian showed up before 9 am w/ more copies anyway. Gave final - I think I may have made it a little easier than previous years, as fewer students took the entire 2.5 hrs. (Actually, just one, who came in late, in a panic.) One student from the afternoon class (their final's Monday) showed up for office hour; went though some symbolizations in predicate logic. On bus home by 1. Read to p. 37 Tost ("A Northern Eros" is a nice if unoriginal Steinian sex poem), listed to podcast on Judy Holliday and the blacklist - a story I know well. GTC to Greenpoint to pick up keyboard etc.; indulged myself by looking around the Thing (junk shop on Franklin), bought a doo-wop comp, a CD by the Mexican group Norte on the strength of the graphics, and a pocket hardcover of Ayala's Angel, a late Trollope novel. $9 total. Had a coffee, went to Word, called car, came home. Rested. Bree was on the phone a lot w/ doctor's office/hospital/insurance - we discussed all that, but I won't get into that here. Read another chapter of Talty since I had nothing pressing, did a few things at my desk. Went to e77 around 7:30, read an earnest but sometimes obscurely 'militant' review of Joshua's Red Epic that I'd printed out (have forgotten the publication). Processed some notebook jottings from the last few weeks. Came back home, watched a few video clips of the Golden Gate Quartet w/ Bree (she's trying to write a song in that style), got half-involved in a couple of episodes of Honey West. Bed 10:30.
