Walked to Lucid, wrote 9-12; end of one section, now into Guthrie's cultural politics. Mundane tasks and distractions throughout afternoon and early evening, including the discovery that I have had my facebook posts set to be viewable only by myself for the last month. Bree out from late afternoon for her show every night the week, yet I still find it difficult to be focused in the apt. Went to Espresso 77 in evening, took care of a few things and added a bit to the final-chapter draft, which is less pressure at this point. Noticed that Jon Caramanica calls the pre-chorus of "Shake It Off" its bridge -- this is increasingly common; it goes in the book. As part of no-computer-an-hr-before-bed plan, wrote (scribbled) more longhand. Rereading that Daily Rituals book from a couple years back. Probably did make my word-count today (I'm trying for 1200 in 6 hrs of work, 3 in a.m./3 in p.m., though if most or all of that is revision of an older draft that goes into this one, that's fine).
Also listened at some point to a BBC half-hour on the bridge/middle-eight hosted by Midge Ure (the guy who joined Ultravox. Ok overview, but not revelatory to me at this point - felt some biased presumptions about complexity, and the classical (sonata-form) roots of the device.
