“Most of my work focuses on the female experience. I choose subjects that are unique and beautiful to me. I like to explore the intersectionality that is essential to feminism. You might also see a trend in bright colors, and gelled strobe lights. I find vibrancy to be a treat for the eyes, like eye candy.
I love exploring sexuality, but I try to shoot it without the negative undertone and concept that women are not sexual beings. I also challenge the imposition of the male gaze in art, as well as the voyeuristic outside view of what a woman’s vulnerabilities and sexuality should look like. I like my subjects to be in complete control of how they are represented in my work. It’s a sort of freedom in its own.”
