My ban from sewing still stands, although I'm at least half way through now. I don't really think abstaining has made any difference to the amount of pain in my hand (which has now spread through my wrist and up my arm), as I'm still having to drive and it's the hand I need for gear changes. Also the exercises the physiotherapist gave me really hurt!
This past week, I've been thinking about my consumption (and waste) of fabric, inspired by everything I've seen for Fashion Revolution Week over on Instagram. I'm a terrible hoarder of offcuts of fabric from past projects, although I have started donating some to my daughter's school for the kids to use. I thought it was about time I started putting some of the bigger pieces to use, like that awesome monochromatic geometric beauty in the photo, so I've been busy cutting out an absolute tonne of bias binding strips.
I like using bias binding for seam finishes, yet I've never made my own. So, in the spirit of reducing my waste I'll soon be the proud owner of about a million metres of self made bias in all sorts of colours. Hurrah! Well, in about two weeks, when I can sew again...
