Lavori in corso
Stopping by and observing these black tubes which are discretely crawling in our streets, under our feet. This material used for roadworks is manipulated and buried under the earth by site workers.
Lavori in corso grows like a fantasy, an obsession, imagining the multiple forms which can exist, be hidden, paralyzed and passive.
After taking pictures of those black tubes in Firenze, in Italy, i decided on my way back to France to work on a sculpture with a moveable aestheticism, a volume with a changing, ephemeral form, which can be forever changing.
This installation is made with fifty meters of tubes and three metallic sticks. The game of weight and the imbalance between the knots and the extremities makes the installation physically difficult and can take the form of a performance which can last from twenty minutes to one hour.
