These types on conversations are the whole reason why I like Ello at least for now, at least more than Facebook:
My boss asked me how do I maintain two separate romantic relationships (especially when he can't even get himself into one at a time). I explained it in the nerdiest way possible.
"Do you like Star Wars"
"And you also like Star Trek, right?"
"Well, I like Star wars and Star Trek. I don't always feel like paying attention to one and I get different things from both. A lot of nerds would say that you have to choose, that you can't love both. But why choose between two things that make you happy, that both have something to offer?"
He got that. Not a lot of people do. When I reiterated this conversation to my husband, he had 2 realizations that were both pretty priceless: 1) He's the Star Wars and the BF is the Trek. No question. 2) He said this:
"So, you love both even though Star Wars farts a lot and Star Trek has a crippling fear of commitment?"
And I'm just all, "Yeah, just like that."
