I know that in this life many people like to believe that we can always control the course of our lives, but I personally have come to believe that at the very most, all we can really do is influence it. I compare this concept to growing crops: We plough the field & we plant the seeds but we cannot make those seeds grow. We can water them, fertilise them, even go as far as to produce through scientific endeavours a nutrient rich soil & genetically modify the seeds themselves, all in order to create the perfect conditions in which these crops can prosper, but still we cannot physically make those seeds grow. Because the power of that growth does not belong with us, it belongs with the seeds.
It has been my personal experience in life that we can put plans & ambitions in motion, then take great steps to influence their prosperity through our choices & our actions, but there will always be elements out of our control affecting their path, & so in the end it is most likely that the power to control the course of our lives is one that will always belong entirely to the universe.
