"Descention" silkscreen on 300lbs BFK Rieves paper 19 x 28.5 inches 1/7
Descention is a piece about the natures mental health, with specific reference to depression and sleep paralysis. The tendency to villify mental illness and it's transformation into a monster from the nightmares of youth were much of the inspiration for this piece. Special attention was made to ensure it's indifferent and emotionless presence, not an evil monster but a force of nature doing what it is meant to.
"A Real Boy" silkscreen on Arches print paper 1/9
Inspired by the grim and often comically vast difference between the origins of fairy tails and legends that became the bedtime stories and Disney movies we grew up with. I was inspired by Pinocchio in particular as well as the basic fundamental question of life, What it means to be human. Most importantly, the answers that would be ultimately be given to that question from, essentially a blank slate, a puppet come to life.
"Untitled" acrylic ink and paint on BFK Rieves paper (black&white)
A deconstruction of the body into it's most basic elements, this piece is my statement on the human body, it's fragile and temporary nature. It stemmed from the topic of body image striking a cord with me, not in support of any side but really just my view of its lack of importance in every way.
My work is an extension of the unique way i view the world, it's crass and rough at time but turns put interesting vantage. I drift in and put of inspiration, fields, topics and styles but the goal of expressing my unconventional worldview is at the core of all my work
