The Oscillating Universe theory is a theory that states that the universe is constantly in a Big Bang, a Big Crunch, or somewhere in between, constantly moving in and out, cosmically destroying and rebirthing, a celestial tide of stars.
When we met, we both felt it. We talked about it frequently; how the first time we ever--finally--saw each other in person, we could feel stars colliding and creating something pure and beautiful and completely right. There was a glittering, empyreal tide that brought us crashing together because that was the way it was supposed to be and everything around us recognized it.
We are pulled apart now, but I cling to the hope that the halves of the star we were both created from will pull back in toward itself, because if it has been theorized that an entire infinite universe will eventually do it, why not us, too?
Until then, I'll wait. Even if it's seven lifetimes from now, I'll wait.
