Yana Gusto was born in St. Petersburg Russia, living and working in Madrid. The aesthetic direction of my works can be described as a figurative style or symbolism, where minimalistic colors in combination with the image-symbol fluctuate between the objective and subjective world.
The right to be yourself without shame and guilt? I do not know what to measure it in. In this work, there are several women of different ages with different stories about how they feel their bodies. What do they feel? Are they in despair, are they tired or are they quite happy with themselves? The picture propagates the freedom of self-expression and the individuality of women's beauty, that women would no longer suffer from the standards of beauty, of ceases to suffer from eating disorders, ceases to cut themselves. To stop being humiliated because their bodies are not good enough for someone out there.
