Don't let this beautiful picture fool you. This rock is an island that preys on the weak.
You see, when I stumbled upon this beauty, I could not help resist the temptation to see what that jungle had on top (plus not to mention the view from there). So here I was in "Tarzan mode", determined to reach the top. I mean, whats the worst that could happen, not like I'm going to fall on the deadly rocks surrounding the base.
I began from the south-end. Got half way up until I reach a point where I knew I would slip and end up as shark bait in the ocean. So I slowly and humbly back tracked.
At this point I was making my way to the north end when I noticed my way in. Crossing the water, with my body submerged I proceeded. By now I had left my Toms on the sandy beach, cause we all know those weren't going help at all. Barefoot I began climbing slippery rocks three times my height until I reach an opening.
Slowly I crafted my way up into the jungle that now seemed bigger than ever. Barefoot I continued forward, wondering how this would all end. I was expecting a snake to jump out and strike, or a poisonous spider the size of an apple. Instead #coryehlert jumped from behind a tree and I nearly wet my pants for a second time.
You see, he too was determined and found a way from a different end of the island. After we reached the top and saw the crazy view we backtracked and somehow found ourselves safely back on the sandy beach with the rest of the group. Both my hands and feet cut up and a little bruised, but let me tell you, it was totally worth being deceived by this rock.
