I’m a 26 year old mexican photographer and journalist. I’ve been in love with photography since I was 14 years old. Since I graduated from college I’ve worked for national and local media, both writing and creating images.
Since we set foot on this world, women feel uncomfortable with their bodies and the things they desire. We are surrounded by images of women that fulfill one goal: to satisfy men. Our sexuality and the way we relate with our corporality is determined by those images. I was never happy with my appearance. For a long time I was embarrassed to look at myself naked at the mirror or wearing tight clothes. I did not feel good about almost anything I put on. When I started doing self-portraits and portraits of other women, this feeling of shame transformed into something liberating. With my work I try to create images of women with a female perspective, explore the body and its sensuality from our eyes.
I use my Instagram and Ello accounts as a portfolio: https://www.instagram.com/yi.ramos/
