Recovering from you,
Was the hardest thing I’ve ever done.
I despaired and lamented,
But I’ve learned,
That, like the stormy sky,
It eventually gives way to sunlight again.
Whether you look up and 👀 it,
Well, that’s your choice.
Didn’t you know?
You were my stormy sky.
I #love you, but I didn’t realize,
You were destroying me.
When you left me,
It felt like frigid waves bearing down upon me,
Icy liquid filling my #lungs,
Turning my vision dark.
But I didn’t want to drown,
I’m not ready to die,
So I marched through your wasteland,
Through the mountains of jagged ice,
Ruined landscapes and #broken world,
That you left in my #mind.
And I remade myself.
Those dreamscape worlds we made,
I built them anew,
Into wildflowers and rustling #forests,
Dancing in my mind,
Instead of the ice and #metal and #stone,
That you left behind.
Once upon a time, those worlds were beautiful,
Because we made them together.
But now, it’s wrought by my ✋ only.
I didn’t need you after all.
