@billfrog I think the other reason is simply ease. It's really, really easy to build my network on Ello. Although Sgrouple seems to be much more private, I have to work at finding people. Not a bad thing, and linkedin did eventually get over that hump so it can be done, but it takes a lot more effort than at Ello or g+ or FB. I mean I either need to know everyone's email or go find it or let some email manager software get access to my email contacts... blah! It seriously limits organic growth. LinkinIn overcame this by providing some value for my work, that value being a perceived "business contact" group that may someday get me a job. Sgrouples gives me locked down privacy. Which I may or may not really care about. It's certainly got a nicer interface (I think Ello looks like "cards against humanity, the social network") but I don't care about that if I can't the right folks easily!
