My blogpost for the day is about Neanderthals and a new revelation because of their DNA. It's been established that all modern non-Africans are descended from a single group that exited Africa around 50,000-70,000 years ago. There had always been a question as to "why?"
Well, it looks like Neanderthal DNA holds an answer. It looks like modern humans did leave Africa earlier, but were absorbed into the Neanderthal population. This means that many humans are not only descended from Neanderthal, but possibly this earlier group of modern humans as well.
