"Because Something Is Happening/But You Don't Know What It Is/Do You, Mr. Jones..."
So begins the chorus to Bob Dylan's "Ballad Of A Thin Man", from the Highway 61 Revisited album, released in the summer of 1965. Dylan was being besieged by all manner of faux hipsters, writers, and reporters at this point in time, which was very much the peak of his career both artistically and commercially. There were countless questions about what this song was about or what this particular line means...These people were driving Bob up the wall. He responded with this song, which paints the picture of someone who wants to be perceived as an intellectual and "hip", but in reality doesn't have the slightest idea in hell as to what's going on in either pop music or alternative circles. Some people just don't get it...Hope you enjoy...https://youtu.be/we37yX3zpKA
