So first of all, if you haven't watched Transparent, it's well worth watching. I think it's the best show that has ever been created and not aired on a network (better than House of Cards or Orange is The New Black, both of which I like, but neither is without holes/problems). The writing, casting, acting, directing, and story are all very, very good. Jeffrey Tambor is spectacular. It is as much a show about being Jewish as it is about being Trans, but it's also universal. Touching, funny, moving, weird stuff. One of the best pieces of the show is how well the music fits the mood. This is an excellent interview with Bruce Gilbert, the music supervisor. It's spoiler-y as he matches up the music to scenes in the show and talks about why he chose each tune. Here is a spotify playlist (from that article) of the songs, for those of you who don't want the spoilers.
